Wednesday
Four of us went snorkeling today while the rest of the crew took to the links for another grueling round of golf under the Mexican Sun.
Visibility was not very good, but at the second snorkeling spot I cam across a vast spread of Sea Urchin embedded in the rocks. I dove down, pulled out my knife and pried off an urchin. I swam to shore with it and cracked it open and then feasted on the freshest uni I´ve ever had. Nothing like standing on the beach, covered in salt water, sipping a Pacifico and sucking down some uni. That´s my definition of ¨vacation."
Last night we all went out to dinner to the old part of Mazatlan: Plazuela Machado. A very quaint district with lots of old architecture and open-air restaurants. Overall the food has been fantastic, although I was out of commission yesterday from a sensitive tummy, but now I´m raring to go and catch up on all that great seafood I missed yesterday. And of course, we have to go to SeƱor Frogs: a Mazatlan staple. Tonight (Wed) is for whatever reason "Mardi Gras" at SF´s. I knew the measurements and currency were different, but I guess Mexico is on metric time as well.
